The Ministerial Committee for Human Development held by the Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, reviewed plans and programmes for raising the technician skills and training in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economic Development; Dr. Othman Mohamed Othman, Minister of Administrative Development; Dr. Ahmed Darwish, Minister of Higher Education; Dr. Hany Helal, Minister of Manpower; Aisha Abdel Hady, Minister of Local Development; Abdel Salam Mahgoub, Minister of Education; Dr. Ahmed Zaky Badr and the Secretary General of the Social Fund for Development, Hany Seif El Nasr.
The meeting discussed means to raise the efficiency and develop training centers aiming to have good cadres who can fulfill requirements of the local, Arab and international labor market. They stressed the necessity of expanding the private and investment sector partnership in providing the training centers accreditations. The training plan approved by the ministerial committee included three levels;
The national level, a map on the training requirements in Egypt will be set in cooperation with various authorities. This will include implementation of policies being approved by the ministerial committee as well approving and defining the various skills as well as supervising implementation.
The second level is concerned with the training centers and trainees' accreditation. The third level related to the training centers either governmental, non-governmental or private sector.
The meeting reviewed skills levels that were achieved in various jobs and craft professions as well as determining the governmental and non-governmental training centers in Egypt.
Dr. Nazif called for the importance of focusing on active fields such as building and construction, and tourism.
