Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, chaired a meeting to follow-up on the plan of solid wastes removal and recycling in Alexandria and Giza governorates. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance; Dr. Yousef Boutrous Ghaly, Minister of Environment; Maged George, Minister of Housing; Eng. Ahmed El-Maghraby, Minister of Local Development; Mohamed Abdel Salam, as well as Alexandria Governor; General Adel Labib, and Giza Governor; Said Abdel Aziz.
Dr. Maged reviewed a new aspect for developing the solid wastes system through using solid wastes in generating electricity. He said that using solid wastes in power generation will be offered in Alexandria and Giza governorates through conducting a new contract with the cleaning companies. The new contract aims at achieving more effectiveness in the environment protection field and getting rid totally of wastes instead of burying them.
