Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif will participate in the 7th Summit of D-8 to be held in Abuja, the Nigerian Capital, On behalf of President Hosni Mubarak.
The prime minister will give a release in the Summit offering Egypt's vision on means to develop D-8 actions over the coming period, especially in dealing with challenges facing economies of the developing countries that resulted from the globalization phenomenon including the climate change and global financial crisis.
The prime minister is expected to hold number of bilateral meetings with delegation heads of countries participating in the Summit to tackle means of pushing and developing the bilateral relations among them. Dr. Nazif holds a message from the political leadership to the Nigerian President related to the bilateral relations enjoyed by both countries, besides the African issues which come within the Egyptian trend to enhance relations with the African countries.
President Mubarak has headed the 3rd Summit of D-8 held in February 2001 as Cairo Declaration was issued, something which considers as a significant step in deepening basis of South-South cooperation.
It is worth noting that D-8 gathers 8 developing countries namely Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Nigeria representing 60% of the Islamic World.
