Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, received the President of Federation of Egypt Chambers of Commerce, Ahmed Al-Wakeel, and confirmed the importance of the commerce chambers in achieving markets" stability, and providing affordable goods with required standards aiming at protecting consumer rights.

Transferring Sharm El-Sheikh to eco-friendly city

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, chaired a ministerial meeting in attendance of Ministers of Environment, Tourism and Local Development to discuss means of raising the environmental management efficiency of Sharm El-Sheikh, aiming at protecting the natural resources and increasing the developmental return therein. This would help increasing the tourism return provided by such unique location at the global tourism map. Such initiative comes within results of studies that showed the high environmental burden fall on the natural resources in Sharm El-Sheikh particularly coral reefs due to the unorganized management of diving and the beaches bad usage. In this concern, a new perspective shall be set to protect and manage these resources.

Dr. Nazif, Ugandan President Review Bilateral Relations & Nile Basin Issues

At the sidelines of the 15th African Union Summit held in Kampala during 25th -27th July, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif met the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni where the prime minister expressed President Mubarak"s greetings, and showed the Egyptian president and people solidarity with the Ugandan president and people over the terrorism event witnessed in Kampala during the last two weeks.

Launching the 15th AU Summit in Kampala

The 15th African Union Summit opened today in the Ugandan Capital Kampala, and Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif heads the Egyptian delegation, on behalf of President Hosni Mubarak, that includes Ministers of International Cooperation, Foreign Affairs, and Health.

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, heads the Egyptian delegation in the 15th African Summit to be held in Kampala, on behalf of President Hosni Mubarak. The summit will be opened on Sunday in attendance of heads and presidents of 53 African countries.

Winter time starts by Ramadan month

In accordance to law no. 14 of year 1995 enforcing the daylight saving time (summer time)starting from the last Friday of April to the last Thursday of September and in accordance to the second article of law no. 141 of year 1988 excluding Ramadan month from the summer time, the following is decreed:

Report on Egyptian employees' situation in Libya & settlement of employment situation in 4 companies

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, met the Minister of Manpower and Immigration, Mrs. Aisha Abdel Hady who presented a report on outcomes of her recent visit to Libya including the settlement of Egyptian employees therein, which considers as a significant progress in such file. She praised the Libyan government positive and constructive situations toward points raised by the Egyptian side.

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, received the Chief Executive of British Petroleum Company BP Tony Hayward, in attendance of the Minister of Petroleum and head of BP in Egypt.

Ministerial committee on Luxor Governorate Development

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, chaired a ministerial committee meeting regarding Luxor governorate development. The meeting was attended by Ministers of Culture, Investment, Water Resources and Irrigation, as well as Luxor Governor, and representatives of the relevant ministries.

Signature of two financial & technical cooperation agreements between Egypt and Germany with a total of € 103 million

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, witnessed the signing of two financial and technical cooperation agreements between Egypt and Germany. The agreements were signed by the Minister of International Cooperation Mrs. Fazya Abul Naga and the German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Mr. Dirk Niebel. The ceremony was attended by the German Ambassador to Egypt Mr. Michael Bock and the Egyptian Ministers of Electricity & Energy and Water Resources & Irrigation.

Government success in achieving balance between rice production & local market needs

Within the framework of achieving coordination to continue providing food supplies listed in the supply cards, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif chaired a meeting today in attendance of Ministers of Trade and Industry, Social Solidarity, Water Resources and Irrigation, and three reports were presented in this concern.

Development plan of education universities

Within the development plan set to develop education universities, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif held a ministerial meeting in attendance of Ministers of Administrative Development, Higher Education, and Education, as well as Head of the Education Development Fund, and Head of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education.

Importance of societal solidarity in the population issue

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Population, with the participation of Ministers of Finance, Economic Development, Information, Health, Local Development, Social Solidarity, Population, as well as number of experts of the National Council for Population, in order to discuss the population situation, and implementation of the Strategic Plan approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. The plan covered means to face the increasing population, population indicators, as well as the future vision for dealing with such issue, taking into consideration the economic and social impact.

Launching of Phase I of the 3rd underground metro line (Al-Attaba- Bab Al-Sha'ria )

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, paid a tour visit to follow-up actions and performance taken in phase I of the 3rd underground metro line.

Egypt's vision on D-8 activation

On behalf of President Hosni Mubarak, Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, participated in the 7th Summit of D-8, held in Abuja, the Nigerian Capital, on 8 July. The Prime Minister delivered a speech on this occassion.

D-8 Summit ends in Abuja

Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, participated in the 7th Summit of D-8 held in Abuja the Nigerian Capital on 8 July, on behalf of President Hosni Mubarak, where he delivered a speech. D-8 group formed of a number of developing countries namely Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Nigeria representing 60% of the Islamic World and 13% of the whole World. D-8 was established in June 1997 and aims at improving situation of the developing countries in the global economy, increasing the developing countries" participation in the international decision making process, and increasing trade movement of the bilateral trade among them.
